Come enjoy the wild Amazon in the Ecuadorian Oriente. Our 4 day /3 night Amazon Tour + 2 nights in the Ecuadorian Andes Tour will take you deep into the Amazon to the Napo Wildlife Center. There you will spend 4 days exploring the the forests and rivers around the Lodge and lake. You’ll have the chance to see various species of birds, parrots, toucans, macaws, herons, Giant Otters, monkeys and more!
Arrival and Departure days both include 1 night accommodation in the the Ecuadorian Andes. Guests can choose to visit volcanic thermal pools, local haciendas, or tour Historic Quito in their final day.

The activity level for this trip is considered moderate. The climate can be warm and humid, there is lots of rain. Guests should use light synthetic clothes and have rain gear. There will be multiple hikes on the trip through the jungle, they could last between 2-5 hours. The pace is relatively slow as guests observe the wildlife throughout the rainforest. Most locations offer rubber boots for guests.
Day 0: Arrival Day Shuttled to Papallacta
- Dinner at Papallacta with traditional welcoming ceremony
- Evening in Thermal Pools
Day 1: Breakfast at Papallacta
- 7:00am Leave for Coca
- Arrival at Coca Port La Mision
- 2 hour motorized Canoe Ride to the Lodge transfer dock
- Box lunch and coffee provided en route
- Opportunities to see herons, kingfishers, and various other birds
- Transfer to paddle canoe for another 2 hour canoe trip
- This trips follows a small creek that connects to the lake where the lodge is located
- Chances to observe monkeys, toucans, parrots, macaws and other wildlife
Day 2: Amazon
- Early Breakfast to make it to the Parrot Clay Licks during the peak activity times of 7:30am-8:30am
- Visit Community of Añangu to learn about daily activities and culture
- Hike through Terra Firme Forest to arrive at second Clay Lick
- Lunch at Napo Cultural Center
- Paddle back to lodge
- Dinner
Day 3: Amazon
- Early Breakfast
- Hike to canopy tower and view the rainforest from above
- Pass through various levels of the forest on your way to the canopy
- Bird’s eye view of canopy
- Return to lodge early for lunch
- Dinner
- Spend afternoon around lodge as we prepare to see what ventures about the Amazon in the night
Day 4: Amazon
- Early breakfast and begin the canoe trip back to the Napo River
- The morning trip offers the opportunity to view giant otters, monkeys, and other species active in the early morning.
- Transfer to Papallacta (Can be substituted for hacienda or Centro Historico Quito)
- Evening Dinner and traditional departure ceremony
- Thermal Pools
Day 5: Departure Day
- Breakfast at hotel

This tour can be booked with a start day of any day of the week except for Saturday. The lodges in the Amazon do not have arrivals on Sundays. If you arrive on Saturday you would travel to the Amazon on Sunday and not have canoe service to get to the lodge. If you prefer to arrive Saturday and fly directly to El Coca that can be arranged, just email us to verify availability.
Cancellations can be made up to 60-31 days before trip. Cancellations made within 60-31 days before 50% of down payment. Cancellations made within 30 days will lose 100% of cost of trip. This cancellation policy required by host properties and can be strict due to demand. We will always try to work to get refunds of customer funds on cancelled vacations but cannot make guarantees on Amazon Trips.
