3 Volcanoes 4 days Hiking Adventure with Hacienda Lodging

Our 3 volcano hiking adventure takes us to Sincholahua, Ruminahui, and Pasochoa. Each day we will spend on a different volcano hiking 4-6 hours each day. Our hiking adventures will be followed up by local exploration and nights spent at local traditional haciendas.

Prices listed are per person for a single adventurer. Groups of 2 or more are automatically discounted appropriately when added to the cart.

Activity Level

This trip is rated as moderate for activity level. The altitude will be mostly above 12,000ft. The weather in the region can change quickly. Afternoons in this area can be cool, foggy, and possibly rainy. Guests should have adequate cool weather and rain gear. There is light scrambling across rim peaks but should not be an issue for active people. Guests will carry a small day-pack which typically weighs 10-15lbs for this trip. Daily hiking distances will vary between 8-12 miles. (14-20km).

Itinerary

Day 1:

  • Leave Quito around 6am
  • Stop for local restaurant for breakfast
  • Arrive to Pasochoa around 9:00 am
  • Begin hike towards summit, may make summit depending upon group
  • Lunch on the mountain will be bagged or freeze dried local meals (guide will have water for heating meals if necessary)
  • Hike back down and head to Hacienda for the night. Hacienda Porvenir or similar.
  • Dinner at hacienda or local restaurant.

Day 2:

  • Breakfast at 7:00am
  • Leave Hacienda for Sincholahua arond 8:00am
  • Begin hike up Sincholahua around 8:30-9:00am
  • Lunch on mountain will be bagged or local freeze dried meal.
  • Summiting Sincholahua is possible with gear and proper notice.
  • If we don't summit we will stop at the base of the mountain before heading back down.
  • Explore valley and canyon below Sincholahua depending on group
  • Return to Hacienda
  • Dinner at Hacienda or local restaurant

Day 3:

  • Breakfast around 7:00am
  • Leave for Rumiñahui around 8:00am
  • Begin the climb up Rumiñahui between 8:30-9:00am
  • Lunch on the mountain will be bagged or local freeze dried meal
  • Explore Laguna Limpiopungo depending on group
  • Return to Hacienda
  • Dinner at hacienda or local restaurant

Day 4:

  • Breakfast
  • Return to Quito or Airport

PIck up will be from Quito area or airport. We will contact guests to arrange pick up.

Drop off will be from Quito area or airport. We will contact guests to arrange drop off.

Things To Bring

Inclusions

  • All trips include private professional guide service. Groups are not mixed and max guide to guest ratio is 6:1. Groups over 6 will have an additional guide.

  • Food, water, and coffee included

  • Lodging or camping as required by trip

  • Entrance fees to all parks and reserves

  • Transportation to and from the adventure sites

  • Guides will carry camp stoves and gas containers when necessary. Guests are welcome to bring their own

  • Guides will have water filters to filter water from streams and lagoons

  • Guides carry first aid kits, emergency locator beacons, two-way radios depending on hike duration

  • Guides carry sunblock and insect repellent

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made up to 5 days before trip. Cancellations made within 5 days may be charged upto 25% of travel cost, depending upon tour and what arrangments need to be cancelled. We will always try to refund 100% of customer funds on cancelled vacations.
